National Care Group appoints non-executive director
Adult social care provider National Care Group has appointed Edel Harris as a non-executive director.
Harris previously worked in leadership positions for a variety of charity and public sector organisations, including chair at the Life Changes Trust, as former chief executive of the Royal Mencap Society, and of Cornerstone Community Care.
Harris said: “I am delighted to be joining National Care Group and their movement to unlock the potential of all those they support with learning disabilities, mental health diagnosis, and other complex needs. Their vision, purpose, and values are a close match to my own. I am passionate about ensuring that all people, whatever their background or ability, are included, listened to, and valued. I am honoured to be joining the board and look forward to supporting the executive team and their colleagues in their ambitious programme for growth and at a time when they are delivering on plans to innovate and digitise their processes.”
Jamil Mawji, co-founder of National Care Group said: “Alongside other members, [Harris] brings a valued perspective and breadth of experience to help guide and shape the future of the organisation. It will be a privilege to have her input and I look forward to working with her.”
National Care Group supports more than 1,300 adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health diagnoses, brain injuries, and complex needs across England and Wales, employing more than 2,700 staff.
