National Care Group, a provider of care and support services to vulnerable adults, has acquired Nexus-Support, a specialist accommodation and support provider, based in Basildon, Essex.

Nexus operates across eight locations in the Essex area, offering specialist support and accommodation for up to 25 people.

Mike Ranson, commercial director for National Care Group said: “Nexus has an excellent reputation in Essex. The services and support it provides and, most importantly, its person-centred ethos fit well with the National Care Group vision and mission. Our priority is to ensure a seamless transition for the individuals supported during the integration period, which we are confident will be achieved by working closely with the dedicated team at Nexus.

“This strategic acquisition continues our drive to expand National Care Group’s footprint and highlights our ability to provide person-centred support throughout the UK.”

Nexus director Steve Baily: “Having spent a significant amount of time dedicated to developing our services, growing alongside the individuals we support and the team, we felt the time was right to hand over the baton.

“We spent a long time looking for an organisation that we felt most closely mirrored the ethos and standards we have worked by and that could take the organisation into its next chapter.  When National Care Group approached us, we were pleased and comforted that Nexus would be in safe hands to carry on the good work achieved over the last 13 years. We have found the National Care Group management and support teams attentive and professional, and we look forward to seeing Nexus continue to thrive.”

Accrington, Lancashire-based National Care Group’s stated that its growth plans have been supported by its existing lender through a recent new financing raise, which will be deployed as part of the group’s organic development and acquisition strategy.

Ranson added: “Securing the increased funding demonstrates the strength of National Care Group’s plans, as we continue our ambitious organic and acquisition strategy.  We continue to grow in key locations across the UK in order to support adults with learning disabilities and other support needs.”
