Hospice temporarily relocates services to Surrey care home

Hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell is temporarily relocating its In-Patient Unit (IPU) to Aura Care Living’s King’s Lodge Care Home in Camberley, Surrey.

The move is being while the charity has a new hospice built on its existing site in Farnham. The IPU services will be provided from the care home’s new 10-room penthouse floor which is part of is 18 room addition of large en-suite rooms, which are being built to suit Phyllis Tuckwell’s needs.

Linda Lloyd, chief executie of Aura Care Living, said: “King’s Lodge Care Home is delighted to welcome Phyllis Tuckwell’s staff, patients and families to the care home, and we look forward to strengthening an ongoing relationship with this highly respected community charity, who have provided specialist palliative care to the local community for over 40 years. It is a great honour to have them choose King’s Lodge Care Home for their temporary In-Patient Unit.”

King’s Lodge Care Home is opening a penthouse floor with 18 rooms each individually named to add to personalisation. The penthouse floor also offers lounge facilities and quiet family meeting areas, providing a calm and tranquil sanctuary. Each of the spacious suites have views overlooking the woodland where, on sunny days, deer and other wildlife can be seen freely roaming the grounds.

We were very impressed with the patient-centred approach of Kings Lodge and this separate new wing provides us with the facilities we need to continue to provide vital inpatient care for the duration of our new hospice build.”
