Exemplar Health Care has opened a new care home in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

Acer Mews, which will create 80 jobs, will offer nurse-led care to working age adults with a range of complex care needs.

Debbie Russell, home manager at Acer Mews, said: “I am overjoyed to be opening this new home for the benefit of the local community and to be trusted with upholding Exemplar Health Care’s stellar reputation. Our hardworking team is devoted to fostering an atmosphere that is welcoming, inclusive and focused on improving each and every day for the individuals we assist.”

The home has 28 bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms, split across two 14-bed communities. Acer Mews will also have communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, sensory bathrooms, a therapy room and two courtyards.

Helen Lawson, commissioning manager at Exemplar Health Care, said: “This cutting-edge residence is a testament to our dedication to offering superior nursing care to adults with complex needs. I’m confident that Debbie and her team will make a significant and long-lasting difference in the lives of those we serve here. They’ll make it possible for people in the community who require complex care to live and receive care closer to their friends and family instead of in an institutional hospital setting.”
