Exemplar Health Care opens £3.7m specialist nursing home in Stockport

Exemplar Health Care has opened a £3.7 million care home in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

Adswood Lodge specialises in supporting adults living with dementia, acquired brain injuries, complex mental health conditions and physical disabilities.

Sarah Lydon, home manager at Adswood Lodge, said: “We are delighted to open our doors to the people of Stockport and surrounding areas who need specialist nursing care and support. Our aim is to make every day better for our residents by providing person-centred care that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.

“We have a fantastic team of colleagues who are passionate about delivering high quality care and creating a warm and homely environment for everyone at Adswood Lodge. We look forward to working closely with local health and social care professionals, our residents and their families, and the wider community to make sure local people receive the best possible care in their own community.”

The home has created 100 new healthcare jobs in the local area, and unlike many local care homes, will feature a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. Exemplar Health Care have already recruited a mix of care, nursing and therapeutic specialists, and are currently recruiting for several other healthcare roles, including an in-home occupational therapist and a physiotherapist.
