BN Care Group purchases Dorset nursing home
BN Care Group has acquired Bymead House Nursing Home in Charmouth, West Dorset, which provides accommodation for up to 30 elderly residents.
The home was acquired in 1992 by Susan Blacklock who is selling in order to retire.
BN Care Group owns two nursing homes in and on the outskirts of Exeter. The purchase was backed by HSBC Bank with additional backing from BGF.
Wade Newmark, managing director at BN Care Group, said: At BN Care, we are incredibly fortunate to take on a home whose history, team, and reputation chime so closely with our values of kindness and community. I have owned and operated care homes for the past 18 years and will hopefully bring some of my experience to Bymead to take the home forward and to build on the wonderful foundation set down by Susan over the years.”
Specialist business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.
Simon Harvey, senior director, healthcare at Christie & Co, said: “Homes in these locations, with consistently strong, profitable trading performances and excellent reputations, just like Bymead House, are highly sought-after by a wide range of buyers and, in particular, operators who understand the individual areas and how important it is that their homes sit as part of the local communities. As we move through March, the care market remains buoyant, with numerous ongoing deals as well as strong interest being shown in a number of other ongoing projects and, therefore, the general tone and expectation for the remainder of the year is positive. We expect volumes to be maintained throughout 2023 and beyond.”
Bymead House Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
