Ambient Support appoints head of quality

Vicky Morris

Not-for-profit health and social care provider Ambient Support has appointed Vicky Morris as head of quality, working with regional quality teams across the organisation and ultimately reporting to Ambient’s board of trustees.

After gaining a degree in social science, Morris worked as a care assistant and has progressed through various roles including team leader, assistant team manager, regional manager and head of safeguarding and compliance. Throughout her 25-year career, Morris has also spent time working as a social care inspector at the Care Quality Commission and studied to become a registered occupational therapist.

Morris said: “Integrity and inclusion are incredibly important to me, and I connect very deeply with Ambient’s values. I’m keen to develop the outstanding work already in place and aim to drive forward the quality of care based around individual need, encouraging continuous improvement in an honest and accountable way to ensure that the individuals we support can live life as they wish to.

“My work as CQC inspector means I have a very clear understanding of regulations, mitigation and keeping people safe. But it’s also paramount to celebrate success and share the great achievements we make so teams and individuals across the organisation can learn and strengthen.”

Mark Milton chief executive of Ambient, commented: “Vicky’s breadth and depth of knowledge is outstanding and her persistence, hard work and dedication to her career in social care and quality, speaks volumes. Vicky has a very clear understanding of what is required to deliver Ambient’s ambition to be a beacon of excellence and to ensure that our services positioning moves from Good to Outstanding.”
