Winner of Care Home Heroes 2022 crowned

Ontex, in association with Caring Times, is proud to announce that the overall winner of this year’s Care Home Heroes award is HC-One home manager Nicola Mould.

The award recognizes those working in care homes who are always ready to go the extra mile and have made a real impact on their particular place of work.

Mould was nominated by a resident’s relative, who praised her support of the whole family through a difficult period. “We will never forget Nicola, who looked after Mam, and want to say a massive thank you to her,” the relative added, “we truly believe she deserves recognition for the outstanding nursing care and coordination of care she delivers.”

When Mould got married in April, several residents attended in a minibus, with one lady even enlisted as a wedding planner! “Margaret is registered blind and she was very low during the pandemic, especially when our residents were isolated,” said Mould.

“She has no family to visit, and her close friend was unable to come in. To help her, I enlisted her as my wedding planner – she helped me to discuss flowers and colour schemes.

“I am so proud and humbled to have been selected as the overall winner of the Caring Times Care Home Heroes Competition 2022!” added Mould. “It’s a huge honour to have been recognised for the work I do at HC-One’s Orchard Mews.”

Congratulations also go to this year’s runner-up winners:
Runner up 1: Paul Bond (Housekeeper @ The Heights, Fremantle Trust)
Runner up 2: Karen Jones (Domestic @ Park House Care Home, Eastgate Care)
Runner up 3: Helen Dunning (Home Admission Advisor @ Wellington, Cinnamon CC)

“We’re excited to again sponsor the ‘Care Home Heroes Competition 2022’,” said Ontex marketing manager Nicole Fenton. “It was tricky selecting the winners due to the many worthy nominations submitted! Our winners really have gone above and beyond in the care homes where they work, so it’s lovely that they are recognised by their colleagues, residents, or family members who have nominated them.”
