Sidmouth nursing home changes hands

Palm Court Care (Dawlish) has acquired Sidmouth Residential Nursing Home in the regency resort town of Sidmouth in Devon, which provides accommodation for up to 29 elderly residents.

For more than 20 years, the home has been owned by Sam Bevan who retired overseas a few years ago, leaving it to be operated by her friend Julie Casely, who’s own retirement has led to the business’s sale.

Palm Court Care operates one other care home, Palm Court in Dawlish, Devon.

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale of Sidmouth Residential Nursing Home.

Simon Harvey, senior director, care at Christie & Co, said: “Homes of this nature are still well sought-after and this sale… really demonstrates the appetite that exists for this style of care home in these popular Southwest locations.”

Sidmouth Residential Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
