Sector prepares to celebrate care workers

The Care Workers Charity is inviting the sector to take part in Professional Care Workers’ Week in September.

The week, dedicated to recognising the skills and dedication of care workers across the UK, runs from 18 to 22 September. The Care Workers Charity is encouraging everyone inside and outside the sector to get involved by attending a talk, raising money or hosting events.

A programme of free online panels and webinars, delivered by care workers and care managers alongside some of the biggest names in adult social care, aims to deepen understanding of care workers’ invaluable contributions to society.

The charity is also asking people to participate in its Afternoon Tea for CWC by hosting an event to celebrate colleagues and raise money.

Care workers are encouraged to use social media to  share their stories and inspire others. A fundraising pack includes images and customisable templates to use on social media, and fundraising tips and ideas.

“Collectively, we have the power to make Professional Care Workers’ Week 2023 both engaging and effective,” said Karolina Gerlich, chief executive officer at  the Care Workers Charity. “Join us in celebrating care workers’ vital contributions to our society!”
