Scottish Social Services Council launches new careers in care website

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has launched a new improved website designed to promote care as a career of choice in Scotland.

The careersincare.scot site has additional resources for people looking to start a career in social work, social care or children and young people services, and for social service employers looking to recruit new staff.

Laura Lamb, SSSC acting director of workforce, education and standards, said: “We are pleased to launch the refreshed careers website at a time when the social care workforce across Scotland continue to face pressures due to staffing and recruitment challenges.

“We understand these pressures and worked on the careers website update in collaboration with employers and workers from across the sector as well as employability groups and training providers.

“We will continue to develop the site and employability resources to make sure it meets the needs of everyone across social work, social care or children and young people services.

“We’ll also keep working with partners to develop new approaches to support recruitment, making sure people understand how they can do life changing work in social work, social care or children and young people services and the great career opportunities it offers.”

You can visit the dedicated careers website at careersincare.scot.

Feedback on the site should be emailed to: [email protected]
