The Care Inspectorate has found significant improvement at an Advinia care home in Paisley, Scotland.

Elderslie Care Home was rated Good for setting and Adequate for supporting wellbeing, leadership, staffing and care and support planning after previously being issued with an Improvement Notice.

Inspectors observed “visible leadership” from a “new and effective management team”.

The regulator noted “the consolidation of staff and residents had delivered positive benefits” and “staffing was well planned and managed”.

Agency usage had been reduced with staff having completed support and protection training.

An Advinia spokesperson said: “We are very pleased with the latest Care Inspectorate report of Elderslie Care Home. It is tangible proof of the significant improvements which have been made at the home in recent weeks and months.

“We would like to pay tribute to our compassionate and dedicated care teams who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the care at Elderslie is of the highest standard.

“Finally, we remain committed to our campaign to urge commissioners, both locally, and across the UK, to adequately fund care. Without the right fees for care, and for care needs, financial viability, safety and quality will, regrettably, always be at risk.”
