Rapport Housing and Care investigated by social housing regulator

The Regulator of Social Housing is carrying out an investigation into Rapport Housing and Care’s compliance with the Governance and Financial Viability Standard.

Rapport Housing and Care is a not-for-profit provider of care homes, housing and home care for older people in the Southeast.

The regulator said: “The Regulator of Social Housing reports that Rapport Housing and Care has been placed on its gradings under review list today (30 January 2023).

“At the time of the last Statistical Data Return, the provider had fewer than 1,000 homes and therefore does not have a current published regulatory grading/judgement.

“The regulator is currently investigating matters which may impact on Rapport Housing and Care’s compliance with the Governance and Financial Viability Standard.

“The regulator’s gradings under review list is available on its website.”

A spokesperson for Rapport Housing and Care said: “We are working with the Regulator of Social Housing to improve our position.

“The past three years have been incredibly challenging for housing and care providers, the pandemic, subsequent staffing crisis and cost of living pressures have significantly impacted the industry, but we are committed to meeting the regulatory requirements and providing safe and happy homes for our residents.”

Failure to comply with the standard could result in the issue of a regulatory notice which sets out actions the provider must take to put things right.
