Staff and residents at Parklands Care Homes group are celebrating after receiving top marks from the Care Inspectorate for helping residents get the most out of life.

Parklands and Burnbank care home in Buckie received the highest possible score of Excellent (6) for the category, making it the top scoring home in the Parklands group. The home was given a Very Good (5) rating in every other category.

Denise Risk, manager of Parklands and Burnbank care home, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have received such a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate. I think it speaks volumes for the amazing team I have here at Parklands and Burnbank. Every member of the team plays an important role in ensuring our residents enjoy life to the full.”

Ron Taylor, managing director of Parklands group, added: “I’m immensely proud of all our care teams but the team at Parklands and Burnbank have truly excelled. They are a credit to the Parklands group and to Buckie. Denise and her team have delivered consistently high levels of care and support for our residents and they deserve this accolade.”

Staff were praised by residents and relatives for their kindness and consistent standards of care and support. “This contributed to the high satisfaction they had with the care provision,” the report noted.

The report said residents “appeared very happy and well cared for” and were supported to lead active and interesting lives. “The service had recognised that helping people to remain active and to lead meaningful lives had a positive impact on their health and wellbeing,” it said.

All five of Parklands’ Moray care homes are now rated 5 star for the quality of their leadership and the way care teams support residents’ well-being.
