Orchard Care Homes is celebrating after achieving a Good CQC at all 23 of its care homes in the North of England and Midlands.

The milestone was reached after Nesfield Lodge care home in Leeds received a Good rating this month.

Cheryl Baird, group director of quality and care, at Orchard Care Homes, said: “We had no doubt that the work put in by all of our colleagues across the Orchard group would one day reflect in a 100% Good rating in each of our homes. We are very tough on ourselves generally and constantly strive for consistent peak performance every day.

“It’s a testament to the staff and management team’s devotion and expertise that we have succeeded in this highly acclaimed recognition. To be acknowledged as fully compliant by the CQC, with zero breaches is something all care home groups should aspire to. I’m extremely proud of our team for achieving this. It demonstrates how much we care and how much work goes into getting things right day after day. Our colleagues have shown dedication and a passion to provide a caring environment for people in our care and peace of mind for their families.”

Orchard offers an approach to care that provides people with independence, compassion, and empathy and plays a vital role in their local communities. Earlier this year, the group launched its Dementia Promise initiative and is committed to providing every colleague with bespoke, evidence-based dementia training relevant to their role, plus further investment in technology, recruitment, and its care home environments.
