New NICE/SCIE quick guide – Giving medicines covertly

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]July 25, 2019

Adults should not be given medicines covertly unless they have been assessed as lacking the mental capacity to make decisions about their health or medicines.
A “quick guide” published by NICE and SCIE is designed to help care home and home care managers to ensure that decisions about giving medicines covertly are made in the person’s best interests.
  • The guide is available online and as a PDF: www.scie.org.uk/home-care/medicine/giving-medicines-covertly
