New chapter for Brighton nursing home

Patcham Nursing Home in Brighton, East Sussex, acquired by SDR, a privately-owned housing and social care provider.

Patcham Nursing Home is an established care business registered for up to 30 residents and rated ‘Good’ by the CQC.

It occupies a 30-bedroom barn conversion with a purpose-built extension which sits in a cul-de-sac on the northern edge of Brighton.

Following the confidential sales process with John Harrison at Christie & Co, it has been sold to local operator, SDR.

Rupert Corney, chief executive at SDR, said: “We immediately felt that it would fit very well in our portfolio.

“Our focus will be to maintain the home’s warm and caring environment and we look forward to investing further in the home to realise its full potential for residents.”

Harrison added: “I am delighted to have completed the sale of Patcham Nursing Home again, having also sold it before in 2013.

“It is a very-rare opportunity to find and, as SDR had purchased care homes through us before, I felt it would be a great addition to its group as it is so well established, is located close to them, and has always enjoyed a good reputation.”

Patcham Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
