Local operator purchases two Bognor care homes

Chalcraft Hall

A husband-and-wife team care home operator has purchased the freehold of Chalcraft Hall and Normanton Lodge care homes in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

The buyers, Selva and Nikki Arjuna, already own Hooklands in nearby Bracklesham Bay.

Chalcraft Hall is a residential care home registered for 20 and Normanton Lodge is a residential care home registered for 26. Both properties have Good Care Quality Commission ratings, are located close to each other.

Speaking on behalf of the seller of Chalcraft Hall, Sean Minks of Musgrave Ventures, said: “Since purchasing Chalcraft Hall, we have enjoyed our time looking after our residents and we wish the new owners all the best with their plans. This is a great business and we will miss the staff and residents when we relocate back to Australia.”

Dr Nathan, the seller of Normanton Lodge, commented: “It was a tough decision to sell the care home but, having bought the property back in 2004, we felt the time was right to retire from the sector and hand the business over to a new owner. It has been a pleasure running Normanton Lodge, the new owners take over a great home with a dedicated team of staff.”

Selva Arjuna said: These are two well-presented, well-run care homes located in good areas and Nikki and I are looking forward to getting to know the staff and residents in both homes. The homes will tie in well with our current care home, Hooklands, which we have owned since 2016. Being so close, it seemed a good idea to purchase both at the same time and we are excited about the new opportunities they offer.”

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.

Funding for the buyer was sourced through Christie Finance. Legal advice for the buyer was provided by RWK Goodman, and advice for both sellers was provided by Ellis Jones Solicitors.

Chalcraft Hall and Normanton Lodge were sold for undisclosed prices.
