Kingsley Healthcare Group has acquired Catchpole Court Nursing Home and St Mary’s Care Home in East Anglia from Four Seasons Health Care.

The acquisitions bring the total of Kingsley homes to 36 and add approximately 100 beds to its portfolio with “extensive” land opportunities on both sites, enabling the company to look at schemes to upgrade, reconfigure or rebuild “as appropriate,” Kingsley said in a press release.

Catchpole Court offers nursing, dementia, residential and respite care in the market town of Sudbury. St Mary’s Care Home provides residential, dementia and respite care in a rural village setting, between Norwich and Wroxham.

Debbie McGovern, Kingsley’s co-chief operating officer, said: “We are excited to be taking over these great care homes that are highly regarded in their local communities. Our intention is to invest in people and product to further enhance our service offer.”

Daya Thayan, chief executive of Kingsley, said: “These latest acquisitions comes as we enter our 25th anniversary year. It marks the beginning of an exciting period of rapid expansion for the group.

“In the course of 2024, we will be opening four luxury new-builds, including state-of-the-art large nursing homes in Holt, north Norfolk and Olney, Buckinghamshire, as well as boutique care homes offering the highest level of comfort and top class facilities in Bedford and Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. In addition, we have also acquired a further site in Suffolk for specialist services.”

Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.

Newcastle upon Tyne-based property, care and leisure company Malhotra Group also purchased three Four Seasons Health Care homes located in Howdon, Morpeth and Blyth as reported earlier today.

In September, Four Seasons Health Care announced that it had entered into conditional sale and purchase agreements for the sale of 11 sites for £41.3 million, with an estimated completion date within 2023.

The sale process is being conducted by business property advisor Christie & Co.
