Ideal Carehomes home rated Good in first inspection

A Derbyshire care home is celebrating after receiving a ‘Good’ rating in its first ever inspection.

Ideal CarehomesCadley Hill View care home was rated ‘Good’ in all five areas following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.

Inspectors reported that the home, which opened in November 2021, promoted residents’ independence through “care and kindness”, respecting their dignity, and prompting a “positive and empowering culture”.  The report also highlighted staff’s detailed knowledge of the residents’ life histories, memories, and family lives, which they used to “understand people and to plan activities and discussions”.

The inspectors complimented Cadley Hill View on the success of the residents’ Garden Committee, which makes decisions about the development of the care home’s garden and its locally famous beehive.

Home manager Dave Godrich thanked his team for their dedication, as well as residents, families and the local community. “We have lots more planned for the next few months including our Gardening club and our coffee mornings – we hope to see lots of people joining us,” he said.
