The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing launches Faculty of Adult Social Care Nursing
The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing is launching a new Faculty of Adult Social Care Nursing, designed “to strengthen the voice, status and professional development of nurses working across adult social care settings”.
The new faculty was announced by Steph Lawrence on her first day as chief executive of the charity.
Lawrence said: “The faculty recognises the expertise and leadership of adult social care nurses who deliver care in diverse and often challenging environments, developing a new and much-needed platform to influence policy, research, and innovation in care. I believe this is a major step forward in raising the profile of this essential workforce.”
In a statement The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing said: “The faculty aims to provide strategic leadership, advocacy, and specialist education to support nurses in delivering high-quality, person-centred care across care homes, domiciliary services, and wider community-based provision. It is the first dedicated faculty of its kind in the UK, underscoring the vital role of adult social care nursing in an evolving health and care landscape.
“The faculty will work closely with key partners across health and social care, and will serve as a hub for professional support, workforce planning, and the sharing of best practice.”
