Home care provider invests in electric vehicles to lower carbon footprint
Visiting and live-in home care provider, GoodOaks Homecare, has invested in two ultra compact, zero emission Citroen electric vehicles.
The Citroen AMIs, also known as urban mobility objects, will be used in a pilot project for carpooling, supporting visits, client assessments and for use by care teams.
Co-founder of GoodOaks Homecare, Ben Ashton, said: “We take caring for the planet very seriously and we are committed to continuously improving our sustainability practices and seeking innovative ways to reduce our environmental impact. As part of this project, we are installing electric charging points at our offices. We aim to prove the concept in our office in our Bournemouth and Poole HQ before rolling it out across our network.”
The move supports GoodOaks’ bid to continuously improve its sustainability practices.
The home care provider has supported tree planting schemes in the UK for several years as well as regularly measuring, reporting and verifying its carbon emissions, and offsetting activities to ensure it meets its carbon neutrality and tree planting goals.
