HC-One opens £12 million Shropshire care home

HC-One’s £12 million Bluebell View Care Home has opened its doors in Oswestry, Shropshire.

Bluebell View’s first resident, Dot Jones, cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the 80-bed care home.

Home manager Michelle Middleton Price, who has over 20 years of frontline healthcare experience, will run the home alongside deputy home manager Vicky Athey and resident liaison manager Sheilagh Lewis.

Bluebell View has been developed in conjunction with contractor Greenchurch Developments. The purpose-built three-storey home is HC-One’s first facility in Oswestry and features residents’ lounges, tranquil reading rooms and a comfortable reception and bar area, along with private gardens with courtyards.

The home also plays host to a selection of beautiful paintings created by local artist, Richard Briggs, that celebrate local landmarks and culture.

Bluebell View is the latest home to be built in HC-One’s new build programme, which saw three homes open in 2021 (in York, Bingham, and Telford) with another set to open in Milton Keynes later this year.

This new build programme is complemented by HC-One’s wider £93 million investment in its refurbishment and upgrade programme, to modernise and enhance the living environments and facilities of more than 200 of HC-One’s existing care homes across the company.

“I look forward to showcasing our new state-of-the-art beautiful care home and what it has to offer the local community,” said Middleton Price. “I am confident that the team will make a huge difference in the local community and enrich the lives of residents living at Bluebell View.”
