Hartford Care acquires Isle of Wight care home

Hartford Care has acquired Inver House care home in Bembridge, Isle of Wight from Somerset Care.

Inver House is a 50-bedroom home offering residential, end of life, respite and day care, along with 32 of the bedrooms for residents with dementia. The business is a converted Edwardian building rated ‘Good’ by the Quality Care Commission, which has had significant investment over the past few years.

Kevin Shaw, chief executive of Hartford Care, said: “Inver House has a fantastic reputation, and we are looking forward to welcoming the team to the Hartford Care family. Our team members are at the heart of our company and are extremely valued for the excellent care they provide to our residents. The acquisition of Inver House is another step towards achieving our goal to double in size over the next three years.”

Inver House is Hartford Care’s fourth care home on the Isle of Wight, alongside Highfield Nursing Home in Ryde, Springfield Nursing Home in Shanklin and The Elms in Bembridge.

Hartford now has 21 homes and more than 1,000 residents.

In September Hartford agreed a £45 million credit facility with to support its growth strategy.

Hartford Care’s head office is based in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
