Existing operators buy Southsea nursing home

Care home owners Dr Ronald Arulnesan and Dylan Dayalan have completed the freehold purchase of Regency Nursing Home in Southsea, Hampshire, which occupies a four-storey property with 21 bedrooms registered to care for up to 30 service users.

Since purchasing the business in 2012, the vendors, Sen and Maria Bungaroo, have upgraded and refurbished the building.

Arulnesan and Dayalan also own a care home in Dorset.

Sen Bungaroo said: “Both my wife Maria and I have enjoyed owning and running Regency Nursing Home and decided that now was the right time to sell to ease back from work commitments. We still own Braemar Residential Home in Southsea and hope to continue to be involved in the care sector, but on a slightly reduced basis. We look forward to continuing the good synergies between the two care homes with the new owners and wish them all the best.”

Dayalan commented: “When my business partner Ronald Arulnesan and I first visited Regency Nursing Home, we immediately felt a connection with the property and the ethos of the dedicated staff. This is a well-run business with the residents’ wellbeing at the centre of everything. We are excited about building on the good name and reputation of the care home and caring for our residents.”

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.

Regency Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
