Exemplar Health Care has officially opened Woolston House care home in in Warrington, Cheshire.

Exemplar supports adults with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities.

The home has 40 large bedrooms, each with an en suite wetroom, split across four small communities. It has communal dining and living spaces, sensory bathrooms, an activities hub, therapy room, consultation room, multi-faith room, visitors’ suite and a garden.

The new home follows an extensive refurbishment of the building, formerly Heathercroft Care Home, which started in January 2022. In November last year, the final two 14-bed communities were opened.

The home has created 140 new healthcare jobs. Several roles are still being recruited, including senior care assistants and registered nurses.

Home manager Des Lo said: “I am deeply committed to creating an environment that fosters inclusivity and empowerment, and I am certain the home will have a profoundly positive impact as we help more people be supported in a homely setting that they can make their own.

“The whole team wants to create a warm and vibrant community where individuals can thrive, families can find support, and where compassionate care is at the forefront of everything we do. We’re still looking for some people to join Woolston House who reflect our values and want to be a part of making our residents’ lives better.”
