Enhance Healthcare acquires Ayrshire Care Homes

Scottish care group Enhance Healthcare has acquired Ayrshire Care Homes, adding a further 189 beds across four homes on the Ayrshire coast in Scotland.

The four homes – Heathfield House Care Home, Wallacetown Gardens Care Centre, Whiteford House and Atlantic View Care Home – are all located in Ayr and cater for a mix of elderly, specialist, and mental health needs.

Founded in 2012, Enhance Healthcare now owns 12 care homes and the recent addition makes it Scotland’s largest specialist care provider.

“The acquisition of Ayrshire Care Homes is a significant milestone for the group, both broadening our reach and enhancing our capabilities to deliver high-quality care for the communities which we serve,” said Andy Jamieson, managing director of Enhance Healthcare.

Business property advisor Christie & Co advised on the sale. Martin Daw, senior director at Christie & Co, commented: “This was an exciting project to work on given the variety of specialist care this group provided across the two operating homes and the two new turnkey projects which offer huge potential to a new provider. We look forward to seeing the growth of the new homes under the care of Enhance Healthcare.”

The four homes were sold for an undisclosed price. Alternative finance provider ThinCats provided a funding package to support Enhance Healthcare in its acquisition. Legal support on the fundraising was provided by BTO (Enhance) and Clyde & Co (ThinCats).
