Closed Scottish nursery to reopen after acquisition

Braid Hills, a former nursing home for 119 residents, will be re-opened in the next few years following its acquisition by Crown Care Group.

It occupies an extensive two-storey purpose-built property from the 1990s, situated on a 3.84 acre plot of land in the Liberton suburb of Edinburgh. It was previously owned by Bupa Care Homes and ceased trading in July 2024.

The plan is to redevelop the site into a state-of-the-art, future-proof facility.

Michael Ladhar, Owner of Crown Care Group said: “Being based in Newcastle, we have long considered the Scottish market as a logical direction for our growth. We see that there is an under-provision of best-in-class care homes against a backdrop of growing demand, and this particular home allows us the opportunity to redevelop the site to put our unique stamp on it in its established scenic setting.”

Christie & Co advised on the deal.
