Championing Social Care hosted its first Christmas Lunch at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall on 15 December.

The event held with headline partner Virgin Money was attended by around 160 guests.

Avnish Goyal CBE, chair, Hallmark Care Homes, said: “It’s been a great year for Championing Social Care, built on the partnership of our founding patrons: CareTech Foundation, Majesticare, Sekoia and Hallmark Foundation, and please welcome Florence as our newest founding patron. I am also particularly grateful to our ambassadors for all their help and support this year.

“The Christmas Lunch was a huge success, it was an opportunity for us to get together and celebrate Championing Social Care and all the positive things about social care. It’s been quite a year as we emerged from Covid, building on the strengths of all those involved with delivering the best care for older and disabled people. We hope to continue supporting the community through our initiatives, to the best of our abilities.”

The event celebrated what has been a brilliant year of achievements for Championing Social Care, including: £408,000 raised at the Care Sector Fundraising Ball for the Care Workers’ Charity and Alzheimer’s Society; 2,410 people participating in Care Home Open Week and over 49 million people reached through social media and 105 MPs visiting  care homes; and Care Sector’s Got Talent streamed live by over 400 people and 1,175 people watched the finals on YouTube.
