Caring Times supports The Care Workers Charity in Royal Parks Half Marathon

Caring Times editor-in-chief Lee Peart was among 12 runners fundraising for The Care Workers’ Charity at the Royal Parks Half Marathon.

Peart and runners representing Bevan Brittan, Skills for Care, Birdie Care and C&C Healthcare have so far raised an amazing £5,477 for the charity.

Around 16,000 people took part in the run on Sunday 9 October which includes some of the capital’s world famous landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and the Royal Albert Hall, and four of London’s eight Royal Parks: Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.

Peart said: “It was a warm day and the old legs don’t run quite as fast as they used to but I was delighted to be able to do my bit for such a good cause. In such tough times, many care workers are really struggling to make ends meet so they need our support now more than ever.”

Ayesha Sadiq, events manager at The Care Workers’ Charity, said: “To raise £5,477 is an amazing amount! A huge thank to everyone for their support and hard work.”
