Assisted living service seeks donations for ‘mug fanatic’

A Suffolk assisted living service is seeking donations for a ‘mug fanatic’ seeking to expand his collection of over 300 novelty tea cups.

Lee, a tenant at Wellbeing Care’s Dell View, began collecting novelty mugs at the age of 16, and after 25 years of pursuing his hobby, he is now looking for the support of the local community to take his collection to the next level.

Joy Henshaw, regional director for Wellbeing Care, said: “Across all of our homes, we encourage our tenants and residents to maintain their hobbies and interests, as we can see what a huge impact it can have on their confidence and happiness. We embrace these no matter how unique they are and always look to support where possible.

“Something as common as a mug brings a great amount of joy to Lee and I’m sure many people have mugs sitting in their cupboard, not getting used and gathering dust. If you happen to be in the East Suffolk area, and fancy creating a bit of space in your home whilst doing a good deed and making Lee’s day, we’d be more than happy to accept your donation of mugs.”

If you have a mug in great condition that you would like to donate to Lee’s collection, who has a particular interest in Coronation Street or bee-themed mugs, please email [email protected] or call 01502 446612, where you’ll be advised on how to make your contribution.
