National Care Consortium and EMT Healthcare launch Care Express

Care home group National Care Consortium and pharmacy supplier EMT Healthcare have partnered to launch Care Express.

Care Express supplies care homes with cleaning, care, and general household items. It is launched by two businesses with a strong history in the sector and will leverage their joint expertise of care homes and supply chains.

National Care Consortium, a family-owned group founded by Tanzeel Younas, owns and operates 48 family-owned care homes. Its partner, EMT Healthcare supplies a range of dispensing products to pharmacies. It was founded in 1962 by the Younas family, who still own it today.

Richard Muir said: “Joining forces seemed to be a natural step, bringing together the vast knowledge and insight of the care sector and healthcare wholesale to improve the supply chain from sourcing the right product, negotiating the best prices, and leveraging a distribution network to offer free next day delivery.”

Younas said: “I have owned and operated care homes for seven years and have worked with Richard and his family for 15 years since my pharmacist days. I knew together we could achieve great things with Richard’s long-term connections and experience with suppliers and distribution networks together with my sector knowledge – it’s the dream team! This offering is all about making things easier and more efficient for care homeowners and their teams.”
