Avery Healthcare appoints new leaders

Lorna Rose and Lisa Soper

Former Barchester managing director Lorna Rose has been appointed as Avery Healthcare’s new chief executive officer with Lisa Soper being promoted to the position of chief operating officer.

Rose has over 25 years’ experience in operational leadership roles in the health and the social care sector, including 18 in various senior roles with Bupa.

“I am delighted to be joining Avery Healthcare as their chief executive officer and leading the team on the next stage of Avery’s journey,” Rose said. “We will continue to ensure excellent development opportunities for our staff and exceptional care and experience for our residents.”

Rose has been managing director at Barchester for the last seven years with responsibility for the operational leadership of 80 care homes.

Soper, who is a qualified social worker with over 35 years’ experience in health and social care, has been with Avery for nine years.

As part of the leadership restructure, founding director, John Strowbridge, moves from chief executive to the role of executive chairman.

He said: “I am very pleased to be welcoming Lorna to the senior leadership team. Our new appointments will lead an exceptionally strong team of people to support our organisation’s growth plan and move it on to its next phase. I believe we have an exciting future ahead of us and wish them every success in their new roles.”
