Anchor opens renewable energy care home in Wiltshire

Not-for-profit care home operator Anchor has opened a purpose-built residential care home in Royal Wootton Basset, Wiltshire.
Marsh Farm Manor is one of 11 purpose-built residential care homes acquired from Halcyon Homes in July 2022 and takes Anchor’s portfolio to 121.
Built by LNT, the home features ensuite wet rooms, a hair and beauty salon, coffee area, lounges, quiet spaces and private landscaped gardens with outdoor seating areas.
Boasting an Energy Performance Certificate A rating, over 80% of the home’s roof is covered in solar panels with onsite battery stores retaining any spare energy produced.
Alison Bentley, director of care services at Anchor, said: “Marsh Farm Manor is a wonderful addition to our care home portfolio where residents will be able to enjoy luxurious facilities, beautiful surroundings and a warm and friendly environment.
“Built to an Energy Performance Certificate A rating standard and with a focus on generating renewable energy, Marsh Farm Manor is also a great example of our commitment to creating sustainable and energy efficient homes.
“As part of our Business Plan we are dedicated to creating more and better homes. Marsh Farm Manor is a clear example of this and we’re proud to be meeting the changing needs of residents while continuing to create places where they can love living in later life.”
