Staff at care home and supported living provider, Accomplish, have raised more than £1,200 for their charity of the year.

Members of the organisation’s commercial team walked or ran over 500 miles to raise at least £1 for reach mile travelled.

The team smashed their target with days to spare to raise over £1,200 for Pets As Therapy (PAT).

Katie Drakeford, commercial director at Accomplish Group, said: “We were delighted as a team to be able to raise so much money for this great cause. PAT provide an absolutely invaluable service and the team were thrilled to support their wonderful work.”

PAT was founded in the UK in 1983 and aims to enhance health and wellbeing in schools, hospices, care homes, hospitals and other settings through the visits of trusted volunteers with their behaviourally assessed animals.

PAT has over 6,000 volunteers and all pets, though most commonly dogs and cats, undertake valuable work for those in need.

Staff and the people Accomplish support voted to make PAT their preferred charity earlier this year.

Accomplish provides residential care homes and supported living services across England and Wales for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, acquired brain injury and autism.
