Care home celebrates Good rating after multi-million redevelopment
A Surrey care home is celebrating a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission following an extensive redevelopment.
Brownscombe Care Residences is one of 14 care services run by family-owned group CHD Living. The 55-bed home, situated in an Edwardian country house, recently underwent a multi-million pound redevelopment. New facilities include full en suite wet rooms, a bistro with a live show kitchen and chef’s table, an aquarium and a putting green. The team has also implemented digital care planning.
Registered manager Ali Packham said: “We strive to deliver a high standard of care in an environment that both looks and feels like home for those who live with us. The newly refurbished rooms surpass the current market standard, going above and beyond typical expectations of a care home setting in the UK.”
The report recognised that residents were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, and that staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. Inspectors noted that relatives and staff told them of a positive and engaging atmosphere at the service.
Brownscombe’s report marks CHD Living’s second consecutive Good rating, after its Kingston Neurorehabilitation Centre earned the same rating earlier this year.
