The ECHO Group’s Falcon House, a new £1.75 million, six-bed care home for adults with a learning disability, is creating a number of roles for local people.

The Stafford-based home is recruiting five registered nurses for positions including clinical nurse leads, 10 support workers, and part-time housekeepers, with further roles opening up in the future. New staff will be offered comprehensive training, said registered manager Cheryl Maitland.

“We are close to welcoming our first service users and I am building a team of motivated and enthusiastic nurses who will support them to live their best lives,” said Maitland. “Falcon House has been developed to support individuals with learning disabilities and additional complex needs to move back to or within their local community from either hospital/secure settings, or due to multiple breakdowns in community support.”

The home, which will be completed in March 2023, will form part of a wider residential development. It will offer support to six people with learning disabilities and other complex needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, physical disabilities or distressed behaviour.

Falcon House, which is being developed in partnership with family-owned builders Seddon Group. will have six large en suite bedrooms, three lounge/communal areas, a private garden, an assisted bathroom and kitchen, a small office and staff facilities.
