Care UK’s Carpathia Grange care home has achieved accreditation from Care Fit for VIPS which recognises the team’s work with people with dementia.

The Care Fit for VIPS framework was developed by dementia experts. It focuses on valuing those living with dementia, treating everyone as an individual, showing empathy towards those living with the condition, and recognising the need for a stimulating social environment.

Carpathia Grange scored more than 90% across all elements of the framework. The Care Fit for VIPs report praised the home for its “truly person-centred care”, the meaningful engagement between team members and residents during activities and conversations, and the 174 Namaste care sessions delivered in just 30 days.

The home’s corridors and communal areas are “dressed” to ensure residents can easily find their way around and understand the purpose of the rooms. Memory boxes outside each resident’s room reflect the individual.

Pooja Dhoot, home manager at Carpathia Grange, said: “We’re delighted that our hard work has been recognised with the Care VIP accreditation. Everyone here at Carpathia Grange works hard to ensure we provide person-centred care to the highest standard possible and that every one of the residents feels supported, valued and safe.”
