Signature Senior Lifestyle has opened a £50 million care home in Highgate, North London.

Founding resident Mary Sumeray cut the ribbon to launch Signature at Highgate at a grand opening attended by Professor Martin Green, chief executive of Care England, Jayne Connery, founder, Care Campaign For The Vulnerable, and Care Workers’ Charity representatives.

The care home, which is believed to be the most expensive care home ever built in the UK, features 96 apartments, including a mix of studio and one-bed and two-bed apartments.

Facilities include a café, activity space, cocktail bar, private dining rooms, art-deco cinema and professional-standard hair salon.

The home also offers restaurant and bistro dining curated by MasterChef winner Jane Devonshire.
