Pinnacle Care Homes leases Hampshire home

Maryfield Convent Care Home

Care home operator, Pinnacle Care Homes has completed the leasehold purchase of Maryfield Convent Care Home in Hook, Hampshire.

Pinnacle plans to refurbish the building and reopen it as a care home for the elderly.

Maryfield Convent Care Home was formerly registered for 18 service users and comprises 18 single bedrooms and four flats spread across three floors. There is a large lawned garden surrounding the home, and a convent with ample parking to the front. The property was built in the late 1970s and had been operated by the Dominican Sisters of Malta, who live in the adjacent convent, until a decision was taken to close the business last August.

Speaking on behalf of the Dominican Sisters of Malta, Sister Mary Anne said: “We were very sad to have had to close the business in 2021, but are delighted to have leased the property to Pinnacle Care Homes Ltd and look forward to working with them to re-establish a care home in the building. This is going to be of great benefit to the local community who we have served for a good number of years.”

Sujith Nair, director of Pinnacle Care Homes, commented: “Maryfield Care Home is a lovely property in a beautiful setting, and we are so pleased to be taking over the lease of the property. This will be our second care home and we are excited about rebuilding the business and working with everyone to create a caring and supportive environment for our future residents and staff.”

The sale was facilitated by business property advisor, Christie & Co. Charles Phillips, director – healthcare at Christie & Co said: “There is great demand for care homes throughout the South of England, both on a trading and closed basis, as shown by the number of offers received during this marketing campaign.”

The Dominican Sisters of Malta were advised by RWK Goodman solicitors.

Maryfield Convent Care Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
