Care provider Loveday & Co is sponsoring a 10-hour opera-thon to rase money for UNICEF and the children of Ukraine.

The event, which will be led by award winning soprano Janet Fairlie, takes place at the Sarastro restaurant in Drury Lane in the West End on Sunday 23 October from mid-day comes two days before World Open Day and will be available to view free online.

Fairlie said: “I am thrilled to be hosting the very first 10-hour opera-thon, bringing opera to the forefront to help raise awareness of the amazing work being done by UNICEF in helping the children of Ukraine and also raising vital funds for their efforts.”

Singers from the Royal Opera, English National Opera and Glyndebourne will take to the stage, accompanied by pianists Robert & Linda Ang Stoodley (Piano a Deux) who have performed on Britain’s Got Talent, as well Richard Hetherington, Head of Music at The Royal Opera House. A string quartet will also entertain throughout the day.
