Local MP visits HC-One’s Darlington support office
Local MP Peter Gibson has visited HC-One’s support office in Darlington which provides services to over 260 care homes in the UK.
Gibson met with colleagues to discuss the company’s ethos, culture and values and to learn about the support services they provide.
The MP met with HC-One’s Careline Team, including Deborah Hulse-Raper, head of customer care, and Denise Evans, Careline Advisor, who spoke about the calls the team takes and how they support care homes to help residents to lead their best lives.
Hulse-Raper said: “We were delighted to welcome MP for Darlington, Peter Gibson, to our Darlington support office. Everyone had a great time, chatting and discussing key issues they care about and what actions can be taken to overcome them.”
The team also discussed how HC-One is continuing to invest in colleagues through pay and rewards, and learning and development opportunities. They also talked about how HC-One is striving to be the first-choice care provider for residents by investing £93 million in refurbishing its care homes, in addition to its new build programme, and the acquisition of Ideal Carehomes.
Gibson also had chance to find out more about HC-One’s contributions to the local community including the Support Office’s Christmas Fayre which raised over £700 and was split equally between two charities, Feeding Families and the Down’s Syndrome Association; HC-One’s Careline Team raising over £13,000 in aid of the Brain Tumour Research charity; HC-One’s support and sponsorship of Darlington Pride and the GOLD Tea Dance events; and donating over 100 cakes to Darlington’s local foodbank, King’s Foodbank as part of HC-One’s support for Cake4Kindness Day.
