Join Social Care reaches 100,000 candidates on platform

Digital care recruitment platform Join Social Care has hit the milestone of 100,000 candidates on its platform – approximately 12% of the market share after launching two years ago.

Join Social Care reports that 60% of its candidates are new to the sector and that the profession is attracting younger employees, with 29% of its user base aged 25 to 34, with three-quarters being female.

With almost two in five (39%) citing caring for a loved one as their main reason for pursuing a career in care, the data suggests personal experience is a major factor in taking up a job in the sector.

Martin Warnes, director of Join Social Care, said: “When we launched Join Social Care at the height of the pandemic, the sector was crying out for talented and committed people to undertake crucial, rewarding work. Over the last two years, the need for carers has continued to rise, and we’re delighted that our innovative approach and technology is attracting young and experienced talent to the sector. We look forward to continuing this growth both at home in the UK and abroad.”

The company stated that it has exceeded the goal set out in October last year to recruit 40,000 new carers to the sector in the following six months.
