Housing developer donates defibrillators
Specialist partnership housing developer Lovell Later Living is donating defibrillators to development sites across the country.
Four partnership development sites for older people have received defibrillators so far. Two are projects delivered in partnership with Home Group and Leeds City Council in West Yorkshire, and two were delivered in partnership with Places for People Living Plus and Hampshire County Council in Hampshire.
Defibrillators rapidly deliver electric shocks to restore normal heart rhythm, increasing the chances of survival in the event of a cardiac emergency.
Lovell Later Living has pledged to continue offering this support to communities in the future, with three more defibrillator donations confirmed for next year.
Lovell Later Living managing director, Paula Broadbent said: “Our decision to donate defibrillators to each of our projects reflects our unwavering commitment to the well-being of both the individuals that live in the homes we create as well as everyone living and working in the wider local resident base.”
Gemma Hutchinson, operations manager at Home Group said: “Having access to these defibrillators could make a life-saving difference if needed, and it provides greater peace of mind for our customers and the communities we work in.”
Tom Brown, director of places for People Living Plus, added: “We are proud to be able to install a defibrillator in the local area to help potentially save someone’s life. Although we hope that the defibrillator is never needed, it is reassuring to know that it could make a massive difference in the event of an emergency.”
