Homecare provider introduces advisory council for registered managers

Homecare provider Right at Home UK has formed a Registered Managers Advisory Council (RMAC) to support its growing network of care professionals.

The RMAC, made up of nine registered managers from across the franchise’s 80+ locations, will create a platform for sharing advice, knowledge and best practice.

Each council member will support a portfolio of registered managers and provide a safe space for their peers to communicate their thoughts and ideas. They will offer a buddy system to support new managers as they join the network, and work alongside the quality and compliance team at Right at Home’s national office.

Alison Taylor, who became registered manager at Right at Home Bristol two years ago, has joined the RMAC. “I think it’s a great way to support other managers across the network, especially those new in post,” she said. “When I joined Right at Home it would have been really helpful to have access to other managers when trying to source resources and best practices, so it’s great that we can provide that now.”

Lynette Waller, head of quality and compliance for Right at Home UK, said: “We are really enjoying working with the RMAC – their insight will help us to drive best practice through our operational policies and working documents and align with the changing regulatory landscapes. The council will also serve to drive new initiatives, improve peer support and communication across the network and gain valuable feedback as a collective.”

The council launched at Right at Home’s two-day managers’ conference last month.
