Home rated Outstanding on first inspection

Loveday Kensington, a dementia-specialist luxury care home, has today been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission on its first inspection.

The home was described as “above and beyond” by the CQC, receiving top marks in care, efficiencies, leadership and safety.

The 40-suite Kensington property opened in spring last year. The CQC stated it was “providing outstanding person-centred care, whilst in a luxury five star environment, which included fine dining and first class hospitality”.

The report remarked on “tailored” care, resulting in outcomes “consistently better than expected”.

James Cook, managing director at Loveday said: “I am elated at Loveday Kensington’s remarkable achievement in receiving a CQC Outstanding rating on its first inspection. It’s exceptionally rare for care homes to achieve this, so it really exemplifies the standards of excellence delivered at every level. This Outstanding rating reflects the hard work and passion of our incredible team, who go above and beyond for our members [residents] every day and I am truly appreciative of their unwavering dedication and support. It also motivates us to continue our mission in providing exceptional care and hospitality services to ensure that every day is lived well for every one of our members.”

Louise Blezzard, general manager at Loveday Kensington added: “This outstanding achievement could not have been possible without an outstanding team and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone at Loveday Kensington. I am also grateful to the wider Loveday group for their continued support, training and mentorship which has made this possible.”
