HC-One working ‘to find a solution’ for Highlands care home

HC-One has said it is working “to find a solution” at a Highlands care home following a report it had been sold.

The statement came after workers at Moss Park told The Press & Journal that a deal for the home had been agreed.

Relatives raised their concerns over the future of HC-One’s Moss Park and Cradlehall care home in Inverness in March after the care provider announced the closure of Castle Gardens in the Highlands due to staffing challenges.

HC-One’s Home Farm care home in Skye was taken over by NHS Highland during the height of the Covid pandemic in 2020.

HC-One announced the closure of three embargoed care homes in Cambridgeshire at the end of August.

In May, the company announced it was putting 19 care homes up for sale to complete a restructuring programme announced in 2021.

In a joint statement on Moss Park, with NHS Highland and The Highland Council, HC-One said: “We are committed to ensuring that people have access to high-quality care that meets their needs.

HC-One, NHS Highland and The Highland Council continue to work proactively together to find a solution to how high-quality care can be delivered at Moss Park in a sustainable way going forward and we are exploring all options to ensure the continued availability of this service.”
