Hapus Care Group has purchased Morgannwg House in Brecon, Powys, a nursing home registered for up to 20 residents.

Established more than 20 years ago, the business occupies a 20-bedroom, four-storey Grade II-listed property with a purpose-built extension to the rear. Originally a school, the nursing home has a redundant gymnasium in the grounds which could be developed for a further 30 bedrooms.

The home has been owned by the family-run business, Sentimental Care, for the past 20 years, and was brought to market as the owners were looking to scale back and concentrate on their other home in Ilminster, Somerset.

Hapus Care Group now owns 12 homes; this is its first in South Wales.

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.

Morgannwg House was sold for an undisclosed price.
