Hallmark Care Homes acquires East London site for new care home

Award winning care provider, Hallmark Care Homes, has acquired a care home site in East London.
The two-acre site in Woodford Green was acquired from the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association following a competitive bidding process.
Managing director of Hallmark Care Homes, Aneurin Brown, said: “The demand for new care homes continues to rise as people are living longer and needing greater support, and we are very excited to announce our latest acquisition of a site in Woodford Green. We are proposing to develop an outstanding, high-quality care home with luxury features such as a cinema, therapy room, and wellness centre which will help meet the growing demand for specialist care in the area.”
Chris Austin, head of property services at Guide Dogs, said: “Following the competitive bidding process, we’re delighted to have exchanged contracts on the sale of surplus land at our south east Regional Centre. The income we receive from this divestment will fund the overdue redevelopment of the retained land at Manor Road, providing state of the art facilities enabling Guide Dogs to support many more people with sight loss in the future. We look forward to working alongside Hallmark Care Homes, as we both undertake exciting developments at the site.”
Over the next few months, Hallmark Care Homes will be inviting the local community for its feedback on the proposed care home, ahead of the submission of a planning application next year.
The new development will be Hallmark Care Homes’ 24th home and is one of several developments currently in the pipeline which are being built by award-winning care home construction company, Savista Developments.
