First-time buyer buys Wiltshire care home

An unnamed first-time buyer has acquired Inwood House care home in Salisbury, Wiltshire, which is registered to provide care for a maximum of 20 service users.

The property has 20 single bedrooms, 19 with ensuite facilities, plenty of day space, a passenger lift and large rear gardens.

The business has been owned and operated by Alan and Diana Butchers since 2003 and was brought to market to allow them to retire.

The Butchers commented: “The sale of Inwood House marks the end of over 25 years of us owning and operating care homes and we leave with great memories. It has been a pleasure looking after our residents in both Inwood House and [recently sold] Fairfax House over the years and we will miss them all. However, we felt that now was a good time for us to retire and pass the homes on to new owners.”

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale.

Charles Phillips, director, care at Christie & Co, said: “The most recent sale of Inwood House demonstrates there is strong demand for care homes, and we have applicants looking for similar opportunities.”

Inwood House was sold for an undisclosed price.
